WEG, a global leader in motor manufacturing, has launched the W80 AXgen electric motor, designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

This axial flux design offers compact, efficient, and environmentally sustainable solutions.

The motor's geometry aligns the magnetic flux between the rotor and stator parallel to the axis of rotation, resulting in a smaller size and increased torque.

The W80 AXgen's compact design allows OEMs and systems integrators to implement innovative applications while minimising their footprint.

With frame sizes ranging from 250 to 400, the motor offers flexibility to meet diverse industrial needs, reducing logistical costs and carbon footprint.

The motor achieves up to 96.9% efficiency, making it an ideal solution for companies seeking to reduce energy consumption and operating costs.

Its advanced cooling system supports fresh or deionised water and oil, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging conditions.

The W80 AXgen operates with a constant torque range of 1000:1 and a constant power range of 1.3 times the nominal speed. WEG's expert team offers consultations for applications requiring speeds outside this range.

"The W80 AXgen is our first motor of this type," said Marek Lukaszczyk, Marketing Manager for Europe and the Middle East at WEG. "With this launch, we are enabling OEMs to explore new possibilities, offering them a scalable, reliable and highly efficient motor solution for both today's challenges and future demands."
