The PLC200 is designed to enable flexible, high-performance automation

WEG, an industrial automation and electrical equipment company, has introduced the PLC200, a new addition to its programmable logic controllers (PLC) portfolio.

The PLC200 is designed to enhance control in small to medium-sized automation across various industries, including manufacturing, process control, packaging, and infrastructure.

The PLC200 runs on a 24 VDC supply and features a 400 MHz ARM Cortex M7 processor for fast response times, reliable performance, and energy efficiency.

It offers eight digital inputs and four digital outputs, and supports Modbus Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and EtherNet/IP through its built-in Ethernet port.

The PLC200 series meets international safety and quality standards with Conformité Européenne (CE) and United Kingdom Conformity Assessed (UKCA) certifications.

The device supports local expansion with up to eight expansion modules, allowing users to customise configurations with digital and analogue input/output cards.

The PLC200 is fully programmable via WEG’s WPS software, which supports Ladder Diagram (LD) and Structured Text (ST) languages, enhancing workflows and productivity.

"This launch highlights WEG’s commitment to accessible, cutting-edge solutions that enhance efficiency and adaptability in today’s industrial environments," said Aluisio João Corrêa, Automation Sales Supervisor at WEG. "The PLC200’s plug-and-play design simplifies installation and maintenance, while compatibility with WEG’s RUW100, PLC410, and PLC500 modules ensures a flexible and cost-effective approach to automation."

"We’re committed to continuously evolving our PLC range in line with emerging market trends," added Corrêa. "The launch of the new PLC200 underlines WEG’s strong focus on helping industries significantly reduce energy consumption and commit to more sustainable practices."
