MEOS GEO 2025 attracted over 17,000 visitors

The Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO) 2025, which recently took place in Bahrain, served as a flagship platform uniting energy leaders, innovators, and geoscientists under the shared vision of progress, sustainability, and resilience in upstream operations.

This year’s theme, "Energy for a Prosperous Future: Leading a Sustainable Tomorrow," builds on the evolving priorities of the industry, from hydrocarbon optimisation and digitalisation to decarbonisation and talent development.

The event, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and inaugurated by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, took place at Exhibition World Bahrain from September 16-18.

It attracted over 17,400 visitors and more than 4,300 registered participants, including 2,650 delegates from across the globe, along with 120 exhibitors representing 21 countries and 732 speakers.

MEOS GEO provided a space for fostering partnerships, unveiling innovative technologies, and igniting essential dialogues among industry leaders.

Organised by Informa Markets in collaboration with professional societies like the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the event featured 123 technical sessions and seven strategic panels.

Discussions ranged from investment and sustainability to energy security and the transition toward a low-carbon future.

Bahrain’s Oil and Environment Minister spoke about falling global investment in oil and gas risks undermining energy security (Full Report on Page 1).

Other notable panels included "Navigating the Future of Energy" and "Balancing Energy Security and Transition," which gathered key decision-makers to discuss macroeconomic energy policies.

The technical conference was built on three main pillars: resilience in volatile markets, accelerating digital transformation, and achieving net-zero objectives.

Specific sessions addressed topics such as seismic imaging, reservoir characterisation, and the integration of AI in exploration and production.

A significant highlight was MEOS GEO’s commitment to young professionals and students.

The Young Professionals and Students Committee organised competitions, mentorships, and site tours, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
