Hitachi has secured an order from Chubu Electric Power Grid for Hitachi Energy’s EconiQ 550 kV sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)-free gas-insulated switchgear.

The technology cuts carbon -equivalent emissions by 99 per cent while maintaining performance and reliability.

As demand grows and regulations tighten, the solution supports Japan’s push for a more sustainable transmission network and advances efforts toward carbon neutrality.
