The firm works with major international management consultants based in the UK which offer management consultancy for the oil and gas, water and power and telecommunications industries, the government sector and banks in the region.

EIL also offers specialist services in the areas of process design and development; heat and mass transfer equipment design; environmental engineering; advanced control and optimisation; information technology services and operations and safety, including HAZOP studies and risk analysis. EIL also assists its clients in conceptualising projects, in selecting environmentally friendly technologies, in the undertaking of feasibility studies and in obtaining statutory project clearances through high quality environment studies.

Recent projects include ISO Octane Refinery in the JAFZ and Gasco's Bab Maqta Tweeelah PL (with NPCC).

A New Approach to Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)

In Information Technology (IT), Eastern Union is very closely associated with international IT companies for its services to the UAE market.

Along with its principals, it concentrates on the areas of IT solutions, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), e-commerce and knowledge management/document management systems consultancy and IT training.

The key to its success is in providing the local interface between its clients in the region and outsource providers in India and around the world, says the firm.

EUC and its principals provide software solutions for systems such as MAXIMO and SAP, to fit local requirements of many large enterprises in the oil industry.

EUC and its principal consultants will work with the client to determine the scope, details, deadlines and budget for the changes needed and will carry out the actual writing of the code with the lowest cost involved.

EUC and its principal will then manage the project on behalf of the client to ensure that the project is delivered on time, to the specified quality and at the agreed budget cost.

EUC will also assist its client in outsourcing its non critical business processes such as basic data entry, accounting, reconciliation and call centers on behalf of airlines, banks, financial institutions and oil companies.

By moving such processes to low cost but technically proficient environments such as India, savings of as much as 50 per cent in overheads can be achieved, with no loss in service quality.

Environment Commitment

The company is very active in the area of environmental issues, working with its principals, a well-known international environmental consultancy based in the US and the UK.

Over the past two years the two companies have bid for a number of projects including the establishment of air quality monitoring systems.

This called for the setting up of a network of monitoring stations at industrial and urban sites throughout the city which will monitor emissions of various dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide.
