Linde, a leading maker of industrial gases, will be the foundational customer for an ExxonMobil carbon capture and storage network in the Port Arthur/Beaumont area in Texas.
Under terms of an agreement, ExxonMobil will transport and permanently store up to 2.2 million metric tons of CO2 a year (MTA) from Linde’s new hydrogen plant in Beaumont, scheduled to start in 2025.
That plant will supply clean hydrogen and nitrogen to a world-scale blue ammonia plant being built by OCI Global.
The agreement with Linde is our largest commercial CO2 offtake agreement to date, equivalent to the emissions from nearly half a million gasoline-powered cars. -TradeArabia News Service
