Award Date : 2024-Q2
Background
Aramco is planning for an estimated $4 billion-plus project that will expand the output potential of the Fadhili gas plant by 1.5 billion cu ft a day (cf/d) through the addition of three processing trains, each with a capacity of 500 million cf/d.
The Fadhili gas processing complex, located 30 km southwest of the Khursaniyah gas plant, was commissioned in early 2020 and has the capacity to process 2.5 billion cf/d of natural gas.
The Fadhili plant processes sour gas from the offshore Khursaniyah oil field and the offshore Hasbah non-associated gas field.
The Fadhili gas project is vital to Aramco’s goal of nearly doubling its gas production and processing capacity from 12 billion cf/d to 23 billion cf/d by the end of this decade.
Package 2 involves work of the complex’s sulphur recovery units (SRUs).
PROJECT SCOPE
The project scope involves work on the plant’s sulphur recovery units (SRUs).
These facilities are responsible for processing and recovering sulphur from the gas treatment process as part of the expanded plant’s operations.
PROJECT FINANCE
Aramco is the project client.
PROJECT STATUS
As of December 2025, the project’s first PAS module (PR005 300 tonne steel structure) has been put in place.
