Osaka Gas inks deal

Japanese company Osaka Gas has signed a deal to receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia’s vast Sakhalin-2 oil and gas field for more than 20 years, project operator Sakhalin Energy said.

“Sakhalin Energy will supply to Osaka Gas about 200,000 tonnes of LNG per annum for more than 20 years,” in line with a binding agreement the companies signed in Moscow, Sakhalin Energy said in a statement. Oksana Gas is one of nine Japanese customers which will receive 60 per cent of Sakhalin-2’s LNG, the company said.
The fuel, which is supercooled to liquid form for shipment on tankers, will come from Russia’s first LNG plant.
