Reid ... challenging role

LUX ASSURE, the market leader in innovative oil and gas corrosion technologies, has appointed Melanie Reid as its product line manager for its chemical monitoring technology, CoMic.

Reid joined Lux Assure in Aberdeen in January 2015 and will support sales of CoMic, as well as acting as a technical advisor to potential and existing clients.

Reid holds a BSc (Des) chemistry degree and has joined Lux Assure from Clariant Oil Services, where she worked as senior development chemist and latterly account representative for one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies, EON. Prior to this, she held the position of development chemist within chemical speciality companies in Aberdeen.

As part of her new role, Reid will be presenting at a number of conferences this year following a talk she gave at the Produced Water Society Seminar in Houston, Texas, early January 2015. Her presentation focused on the value of monitoring the components of oilfield produced fluids.

Charles Cruickshank, CEO of Lux Assure said: “Melanie is an asset to Lux Assure and already she has demonstrated her value and enthusiasm to the company. Our global client base is extremely important to us and I am confident that Melanie will ensure that our CoMic technology continues to deliver beyond client expectations.”

Commenting on her new role, Reid said: “I am very pleased to be joining Lux Assure as product line manager and I am already enjoying the challenges this role has to offer. With the company recently expanding into the Middle East, this is an exciting time for me to join and I look forward to being part of the company’s continued growth.”

Lux Assure currently delivers two key technologies, CoMic and Ommica, which together represent a revolution in monitoring and managing difficult-to-detect chemicals in hydrocarbons, condensates and water, specifically the thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors used to protect oilfield assets, on and offshore.
