A ministerial panel explores energy strategies

The World Utilities Congress 2025, hosted by TAQA, focusing on "Innovating for a New Age of Utilities," was attended by dignitaries, ministers, and CEOs from around the world.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr Abdulla Al Jarwan, Chairman of the UAE Department of Energy; and Jasim Thabet, Group CEO & Managing Director of TAQA.

The event featured three days of dialogue and collaboration, including a Ministerial Panel titled "Looking Ahead to COP30" discussing how revised national energy strategies could align with global climate objectives. The panel also explored how emerging markets could balance energy security, environmental stewardship, and economic growth to maintain competitiveness in global utilities.

The closing panel, "Road to a New World of Power Interconnectivity", discussed advanced grid interconnectivity and its impact on future of energy.

The Innovation Hub showcased solutions in utilities sector, while Cleantech Theatre highlighted growing importance of electrification and ESG-led innovation in decarbonising utilities, transport, and energy systems.
