Two successive strong earthquakes shook separate tourist destinations in Indonesia, but there were no reports of damage or casualties, officials said.
The cultural centre of Yogyakarta in Central Java was jolted by a deep-sea quake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale which struck 150 km from the town at 0633 GMT, said the National Quake Center's Suharjono.
Thirty minutes earlier, the resort island of Sumbawa Besar, close to the island of Bali, was hit by a quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale and located at 79 km south of the island.
"Our staff reported that they both quakes were felt quite strongly but so far there have been no reports of damage or casualties," Suharjono said.
Police at both locations said they had not received reports of death or damage.
In February at least 28 people were killed when a succession of powerful earthquakes hit Indonesia's Papua province.
