New drone swarm tech

Durham University scientists have introduced T-STAR, an advanced drone swarm technology that enhances the coordination, speed, and safety of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in complex environments.

This system enables real-time communication among drones, allowing them to adjust their paths instantly to avoid collisions while maintaining formation.

The researchers also believe the technology has strong potential for everyday applications, from agriculture to logistics, where teams of autonomous flying robots could operate at a scale and efficiency previously thought impossible.
