PGWS tastes success at GIF

PGWS at the Gulf Industry Fair

PAN Gulf Welding Solutions (PGWS), a subsidiary of the diversified business group Saudi Pan Gulf, is flushed with the commercial success it got at the recently held Gulf Industrial Fair 2009 in Bahrain.

The company stocks extensive product range of consumables and equipment suited to every eventuality from welding a parameter fence to assembly of the key components in an oil refinery. The sole distributor and agents for quality welding and cutting products throughout Saudi Arabia, PGWS exhibited new lines of products at the event including power tools from Hitachi, Hypertherm plasma cutting machines and Abicor Binzel welding and cutting torches.
The company says it secured orders worth over €1.5 million ($1.94 million) from Saudi Arabian customers at the fair. The order involves delivering welding equipment like 2 CNC Ergostar EXA 4500 cutting machines with plasma carriages 400A, maximum plate thickness 70 mm piercing, 150 mm edge for plate size 3 m by 12 m with 2 oxy fuel cutting stations and 1 plasma station; 5 Hypertherm Manual Plasma (2 Powermax 1250 with maximum quality cut up to 29 mm and 3 Powermax 1650 with maximum quality cut up to 38 mm, and other equipment.
PGWS also received huge enquiries for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) range like specs, goggles, gloves, coveralls, hard huts, welding shields, reiterating the fact that safety of workers is a big concern for companies in the Middle East.
 PGWS exhibited safety products supplied by world leaders Jackson Safety of which PGWS is an agent in the Middle East. PGWS also attracted attention from potential buyers for the range of welding torches supplied by Abicor Binzel based in Germany.
“Thanks to Binzel we got huge interest from biggest Saudi customers for changing their existing welding torches to newest models from Abicor Binzel,” says the company spokesperson. PGWS is the exclusive agent of Abicor Binzel in the KSA and has planned follow up of the GIF inquires by direct visit together with Binzel ME sales manager Manfred Stoer in the coming weeks.
“Generally for PGWS, GIF 2009 was very successful – both from PR point of view and commercial as well. We are still waiting for additional responses from the market and potential customers as during show we made huge numbers of offers due to customer requests,” adds the spokesperson.
