Union Cement Norcem (UCN), supplying 'Norwell' in the Middle East, Africa and Far East was established in 1980 as a joint venture between Ras Al Khaimah-based Union Cement Company  (UCC), and Norway's Norcem Cement.

The technical know-how to produce oilwell cement conforming to API standards was transferred to UCC from Norcem, the Norwegian oilwell cement producer supplying the North Sea market. UCN is managed by Scancem International of Norway, a part of HeidelbergCement Group.

The 'Norwell' cement is produced from carefully selected raw materials using computerized quality control, thus ensuring correct chemical composition and consistency.

UCN is authorised to use the API monogram for Class 'G' and 'B' cements. The cement is delivered in 50 kg bags, jumbo bags of 1.5 tonnes and bulk.
