The International Ma-rine Contractors Association (IMCA) has introduced videos on ‘Working at Height’ and a seventh card, ‘Drug and Alcohol Misuse: The Effects’, in the MCA pocket safety card series.

The offshore oil and gas business is an industry leader in developing safety practices, but falls from height are still a serious problem worldwide. They are the single largest cause of death and serious injury in industry today. One of the problems in dealing with these incidents is that they are so varied.
Hence, the IMCA produced a video in English, last year, on safety awareness. The video is available with subtitles in eight languages — Arabic, Tagalog, French, Indonesian Bahasa, Italian, Malay, Portuguese and Spanish.
“Various hazards are discussed on the video,” explains IMCA’s technical director, Jane Bugler.
The video is available on both NTSC format (for North America and certain other areas) and PAL (for other locations) DVDs.
