EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia hopes to complete another record year and retain its leadership
Always aiming to offer its customers the highest levels of sales and service available, global mechanical seals manufacturer EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia is having another terrific year.
'Our rapid growth in kingdom and indeed the GCC region in general, has meant that, as a local manufacturer, we have to ensure we maintain our high standards of engineering knowledge when dealing with our customers, whilst simultaneously ensuring we demonstrate the high standards of ethical behaviour expected of an industry leader at all times, and this has paid dividends as we have begun 2016 in the same way we completed what was a record year in 2015,' says Jeff Stewart, managing director, EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia.
EagleBurgmann is proud to hold Nitaqat Platinum status in Saudi Arabia. In order to maintain this, it sees ongoing sales and product technology training as a key factor in staff retention. With this aim in mind, it has invested heavily in various training processes, both in-kingdom and globally, to ensure the continuous development of staff.
In-depth and hands-on training for service engineering staff held in Germany and Dubai, HSE staff training, application engineering staff training in the UAE and Germany, engineering product training for sales engineers in Japan and Germany, sales and logistics staff training in Turkey, and training for HR personnel in Germany, as well as basic first aid, IOSH working safety, basic firefighting and forklift training held locally, are all evidence of EagleBurgmann’s investment in its workforce. In February, a second Miller Heiman training programme was held to follow up on the initial programme held for sales and service personnel in Al Khobar in 2015.
In addition, EagleBurgmann also offers customer training, including intensive onsite training and workshops in-kingdom, as well as standard and bespoke training courses in Germany and Japan, all designed to help customers’ staff better understand the latest EB products and technologies available to them. Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Sadara, and Satorp are amongst a long list of its satisfied customers.
Some of EagleBurgmann’s early successes in 2016 include:
Supplier performance score from Aramco: In the past 12 months, EagleBurgmann implemented a change process to further improve their supplier performance score with Saudi Aramco, resulting in regularly achieving a 100 per cent score in Aramco’s supplier performance review.
EagleBurgmann Jubail awarded ISO 9001 certification: After a successful audit by Bureau Veritas, EagleBurgmann’s Jubail service centre was awarded ISO 9001 certification. The Jubail facility supports both Sadara and Satorp contracts amongst others, so certification is vitally important to growth plans, and follows on from ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and 18001 certification of EagleBurgmann’s Al Khobar manufacturing and service facility.
Sadara service contract: EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia has successfully negotiated and finalised a two year service contract with Sadara, the world’s largest integrated chemicals complex ever built in a single phase, The project is nearing completion of the construction phase, and individual plant units are progressing to commissioning and startup phase.
Frame agreement with Sabic: A three-year Global Framework Agreement (GFWA) has been concluded with Sabic, one of the world’s top three chemical companies. The GFWA, which is renewable for further years, incorporates negotiated terms and conditions to be used in future individual purchase agreements with Sabic, and together we seek to grow EagleBurgmann’s seal population on Sabic sites.
In addition to the above, EagleBurgmann has been successful in winning many major Saudi projects, including gaining a substantial presence in the grass root refinery, hydro carbon terminal facility, and IGCC power plant being built by Saudi Aramco as part of the Jazan Economic City (JEC) development, in the South-Western region of Saudi Arabia.
EagleBurgmann products supplied to this facility include wet mechanical seals, dry gas seals, diaphragm couplings, and ‘Espey’ carbon rings. The company plans to establish a sales and service facility in Jazan in line with the growth of this important industrial development area.
