Fountain ... business has grown

Bauer Kompressoren, a global leader in the manufacture of high-pressure compressors, is showcasing at Adipec 2019 nitrogen generators (stationary and portable) along with breathing air compressors.

"Pipeline service providers will be interested in this product range as it is going to reduce their pain of transporting nitrogen," says Colin Fountain, Managing Director at Bauer Kompressoren GCC.

Having successfully completed the installation of compressors for Petroleum Development Oman’s Yibal Kuff project through Petrofac, Bauer has been having a very successful year.

"Business has grown compared to last year, thanks to our channel partners in the region who are very active in the region and provide prompt support to the end users with the help of our local staff," says Fountain.

Another project win for Bauer was Emirates Global Aluminium, where Bechtel chose it as a supplier of compressors for HP digestion.

However, Bauer is aware that the market demographics are changing in terms of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence and a shift towards non-conventional energy sources.

"We are associated with big names in this drive. We are actively supporting sulphur reductions, carbon monoxide reduction by selecting energy efficient drivers for our compressors," he says.

Apart from oil and gas, Bauer also specialises in compressors for inert gases (helium, argon, nitrogen etc). Plastic component production using gas assist technology needs Bauer’s compressors. The company is also diversifying to instrument air compressors using a different technology which the world has not seen so far.

Regarding Adipec, he says: "We participate at Adipec every year as it gives us exposure to potential customers, partners and suppliers. This platform gives us an opportunity to invite other Bauer Group Companies to talk about tomorrow’s needs in oil and gas so that we can go back and develop what the market would aspire."

The Bauer brand is recognised in the market for its quality and reliability. "Our participation at Adipec asserts that we are in the market during highs and lows of the oil industry."

This time Bauer will be in the US pavilion. The company looks forward to spending some quality time with its associate companies in the same pavilion.

Bauer started participating in Adipec since 2010. "We cannot measure the result directly however, over the years of participation, we have generated a good number of leads. Being one of the biggest shows in the world, people from other territories also visit Adipec. We pass on the leads generated for the other territories."

Also, having local presence in the region is adding value to Bauer’s products. "We can provide after sales service and spare parts quicker which makes our customers happy," he adds.

Bauer is an international $350 million company having about 1,100 employees, 22 subsidiaries and 14 branch offices. Bauer is present at Adipec in Hall 7, stand 7321.
