The World Hydrogen Mena Congress 2025 brought together key stakeholders from the hydrogen value chain to discuss the region's role in the global hydrogen economy from February 4-6, in Dubai, UAE.
The event, partnering with the Mena Hydrogen Alliance, received official patronage from the UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the first time and it welcomed over 250 senior government officials, industry leaders, investors, and technology pioneers, all committed to advancing hydrogen development in Mena.
The congress began with a Masterclass Day, offering attendees in-depth learning on Mena's hydrogen regulations, certifications, synthetic ammonia, giga-scale projects, and local offtake.
The main conference sessions focused on developing concrete foundations for a hydrogen market to scale up.
Two content streams on Project Development and Finance & Risk addressed the challenges faced by these critical enablers of hydrogen deployment.
Speakers from the Mena region, China, Mongolia, Europe, and Japan provided insights into market trends, commercial strategies, international cooperation, and technological breakthroughs.
Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, highlighted local efforts in building regulations, infrastructure, and manufacturing capabilities.
Despite challenges towards achieving a low carbon economy, hydrogen remains vital to Mena's future energy system, economic development, and energy security. World Hydrogen Mena is committed to providing a platform for progress and collaboration.
