The Ecoplant cuts CO2 emissions by up to 30 per cent

CompAir has unveiled Ecoplant, an AI-based compressed air management system that enables real-time adjustments to compressor operations, delivering energy cost savings and CO2 emissions reductions of up to 30 per cent.

The new system addresses inefficiencies in traditional static control setups that often fail to respond to fluctuations in air demand—resulting in as much as 50 per cent of compressed air being wasted.

By dynamically adjusting compressor setpoints and selecting the optimal operating configuration, Ecoplant ensures compressed air is used efficiently across industrial facilities.

The platform continuously monitors key network metrics, identifying leaks and enabling their isolation while also predicting potential equipment faults before they escalate, reducing costly downtime and unplanned repairs.

The system’s remote, cloud-based interface gives users access to SAAS-driven predictive analytics and real-time alerts, allowing maintenance teams to respond immediately to issues from any location.

One-click monitoring and custom dashboards provide operators with comprehensive oversight of the system, helping to maximise production efficiency.

Ecoplant also captures unlimited historical data, allowing users to identify trends in demand or usage, compare performance periods, and make data-driven decisions.

The system is customisable to match each facility’s specific compressed air setup and can track performance metrics at both system-wide and individual component levels.

According to Andrea Milia, Business Development Manager at CompAir: "Over 70 per cent of manufacturing facilities use compressed air systems, which typically represent between 10 to 30 per cent of the site’s average annual electricity costs. Combined with equipment efficiencies, costly maintenance and poor air quality, generating compressed air can be costly.

He adds: "With its dynamic control managed by machine learning, Ecoplant offers a new approach for operators to monitor and manage their compressed air system remotely, helping save maintenance costs and avoid equipment downtime."

To support adoption, CompAir has introduced an annual value calculator on its website, allowing facility managers to estimate potential savings from implementing Ecoplant in their operations.
