Envision Energy has launched its Model T–EN175/8.0, an 8 MW-class onshore wind turbine featuring a 175-m rotor, at WindEnergy Hamburg.
Designed for medium-wind-speed sites and challenging operating environments, the turbine combines advanced aerodynamics, integrated drivetrain technologies and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered controls to improve energy generation and operational efficiency.
Built on Envision’s Model T platform, which has recorded more than 4,000 orders and around 1,500 installations, the new model incorporates sixth-generation low-noise aerodynamic technology and components designed and manufactured in-house, including blades, gearboxes and generators.
According to the company, the EN175/8.0 can increase energy yield by 2-12 per cent, depending on site conditions.
Its design also targets a sound power level of 107 dB(A), with optional low-noise operating modes for noise-sensitive locations.
The turbine is engineered for varied environments, including mountainous terrain, regions with extreme winds and cold or icing-prone climates.
Optional blade ice-prevention technology supports operation in challenging weather conditions.
A key feature is its Galileo autonomous optimisation system, powered by Envision’s Tianji Weather Foundation Model and Dubhe Energy Foundation Model.
The AI-enabled technology analyses real-time operating conditions and adjusts control strategies to optimise performance and reduce the need for manual intervention.
The turbine also incorporates a full-power converter and grid-forming controls to support voltage and frequency stability, respond to grid faults and operate in weaker grid conditions.
