The system integrates spill monitoring, recovery and support services

Robo.ai has announced that its controlled subsidiary, Abu Dhabi-based industrial group ALIF Holding, has presented an integrated oil spill response system concept for its proposed ALIF Maritec venture, targeting ports, oil and gas terminals, offshore facilities, shipyards and coastal industrial sites.

The proposed system would integrate spill monitoring, containment, recovery and post-incident assessment, supported by engineering, training and maintenance services.

It aims to coordinate monitoring data, response equipment and operating teams, with configurations tailored to site conditions and the characteristics of spilled oil.

Human operators would retain responsibility for response authorisation, operational decisions and safety, according to the company.

The initiative comes amid the importance of maritime transport and energy infrastructure.

UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) estimates that shipping carries more than 80 per cent of global merchandise trade by volume.

Separately, Mordor Intelligence estimates the global oil spill remediation materials market at $4.23 billion in 2025, projecting growth to $5.22 billion by 2031.

ALIF Maritec forms part of ALIF Holding’s wider industrial development plans.

On September 25, 2026, the group held a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase I of its industrial park in Umm Al Quwain.

The development includes refurbishment of existing factory premises covering approximately 8,845 square metres of designed gross floor area.

ALIF Maritec is expected to be the first project to occupy the site once refurbishment is completed and operational readiness is achieved.

The group plans to evaluate pilot opportunities in the UAE, alongside technical validation, local equipment integration, assembly, training and maintenance capabilities.

Implementation remains subject to technical results, partnerships, funding, site readiness and required approvals.
