Covering Climate Now has announced the winners of the 2025 CCNow Journalism Awards, marking its fifth year in the programme.

The awards recognise outstanding reporting on critical aspects of the climate story, with 49 winners from around the world.

The programme received over 1,200 entries from journalists in nearly 50 countries, representing every aspect of the climate journalism profession.

Judges selected two to three winners in each of 14 subject-based categories, including solutions, justice, politics, and health.

Three 2025 CCNow Journalists of the Year were named, including Thaslima Begum, Vanessa Hauc, and Ayoola Kassim.

These awardees are active participants in the broader journalism and climate communities, serving in leadership roles, providing climate expertise, and mentoring younger journalists.

Other winners include global stalwarts like Reuters, Al Jazeera English, and The Washington Post, local outfits like WBUR, Univision 45, and the New York Amsterdam News, and newsrooms on the front lines of the climate crisis.
