Ketjen Corporation presented new results for SaFeGuard, an FCC catalyst that reduces iron (Fe) poisoning while enhancing performance and profitability.

In a 30-day trial, SaFeGuard showed a 77 per cent improvement in diffusion and accessibility with a 50 per cent inventory changeout compared to leading catalysts for iron-rich feedstocks.

Predictive models suggest a potential 130 per cent increase in accessibility with a full changeout.

The Ketjen Accessibility Index (KAI) quantifies catalyst performance, indicating that higher scores correlate with increased activity and profitability.

SaFeGuard also led to a 2.3 per cent rise in liquefied petroleum production and a previous 2 per cent increase in gasoline output.
