25 APT groups target region

Kaspersky’s recent findings reveal that the Middle East, Turkiye, and Africa face threats from 25 Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups since early 2024.

These groups primarily target financial services, critical infrastructure, defense, and government sectors, with some expanding into emerging industries.

Notable groups include Griffith, which focuses on financial services, and SideWinder, known for espionage.

Many APTs gain access through socially engineered spear-phishing, disguising their activities to remain undetected for extended periods.

To combat these threats, Kaspersky recommends multilayered security solutions, continuous monitoring of third-party providers, and employee training through its Security Awareness Platform.
