Dr Amna Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, highlighted the UAE’s global leadership in renewable energy at the 16th IRENA Assembly in Abu Dhabi.
Emphasising AI integration and strategic storage, she showcased the UAE’s rapid growth, doubling renewable capacity from 3.1 GW in 2022 to 6 GW in 2024, aiming for 14.2 GW by 2030.
Landmark projects, like the 5 GW hybrid solar-plus-storage facility, demonstrate uninterrupted clean power.
She also stressed sustainable development in the Global South through the $1 billion AI for Development Initiative and underscored women’s empowerment as central to climate resilience.
