The recent launch of Qapco’s new logo marked yet another milestone in the history of Qapco as it adds a new chapter to its book of glory.

Qapco vice-chairman and general manager engineer Hamad Rashid Al Mohanadi said the move “will definitely inspire us to face the new challenges of the globalisation phenomena and the changes it has imposed on the business environment”.
Al Mohanadi said that since its establishment, over 30 years ago, Qatar Petrochemical Company had taken quantum leaps in line with QP’s industrialisation plan. A plan that calls for the optimum utilisation of the country’s abundant gas reserves to sustain and diversify the country’s economy.
No wonder, Qapco’s main objectives, as part of QP, has been and will continue to be as follows:
1) Maximum utilisation of the country’s natural resources;
2) Achieve the highest netback for our products to maximise our contribution to the national economy.
3)  Create business opportunities and jobs to revive the national economy;
4)  Social contributions; and
5)  Safeguarding the environment.
Qapco’s track record is marked with growth and excellence and that has lived up to our motto, “committed to growth and excellence”.
Thanks to the outstanding quality of Qapco’s products and the solid reliability it provides to customers, agents and buyers, the company have established ourselves as a global player in the global petrochemical industry.
Al Mohanadi also said, “Our firm belief in continuous progress, however, drives us to always aim higher; this is indeed what we do through our continued expansion, both of our production facilities and our list of target markets.
“We are enjoying a comfortable lead as the Middle East’s leading LDPE producer and are aiming to have a considerable share of the world’s ethylene produce, 40 per cent of which is expected to come from the Middle East.
“In order to turn such a vision into reality, Qapco has set well-defined objectives including maximising efficiency, focusing on customers’ needs, delivering high quality products, optimising output, maintaining the highest degree of safety and protecting the environment.
“Highlighting our vision for a very promising future, for the industry in general and for Qapco in particular, and communicating our status as the industry’s rising star, has merited the step we are taking today, the one you have all been kind enough to join us for; the launch of our new logo.”
Al Mohanadi added: “Hand in hand with our appropriately dynamic logo, we are making a true statement about who we are and what we do; adopting that well-told truth as more than just a motto, but rather a promise for the future, in words that express how our products touch the everyday life of millions of people around the world – ‘Qapco, in just about everything’.”
The new logo constitutes a new passport to enter the global petrochemical dome and a new membership card to the leading international petrochemical players’ society. A membership that has been rightfully acquired by Qapco whose global marketing network granted its products the privilege to touch the lives of over 4,000 customers in over 75 countries.
“Our new identity will help us to cope with the new changes in an environment where the global petrochemical landscape is relentlessly evolving.
“It is no secret that the centre of gravity of the polyolefin world is shifting eastwards, and the GCC will definitely become the global petrochemical production hub of world, where 40 per cent of all the new global ethylene capacity will be built in the Middle East,” said the official.
Taking its share from the Middle East petrochemical evolution, Qapco is embarking on expansion plans that will reiterate its status not just as the leading LDPE producer in the Middle East, but as a major global player with a portfolio mix that is well diversified and balanced.
Upon conclusion of its expansion plans by 2010, Qapco’s production capacity will increase to 1.32 million MT of ethylene and 1.2 million MT of polyethylene at a total investment of $1.7 billion.
