QatarEnergy ships first LNG from Golden Pass 

QatarEnergy has marked its first LNG export cargo from the Golden Pass LNG project in Sabine Pass, Texas, a milestone in the US–Qatar joint venture with ExxonMobil. 

The cargo was loaded onto the Al-Qaiyyah LNG carrier, signalling the start of commercial operations. 

The project has a total capacity of 18 million tonnes per year, with most output handled by QatarEnergy Trading. 

It recently achieved first production from its initial liquefaction train in March 2026.


Saudi begins six BESS project qualification

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (Principal Buyer), under the Ministry of Energy, has launched the qualification process for the second group of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, comprising six developments. 

The projects will be delivered under a build own operate model, with 100 per cent private equity ownership in each special purpose vehicle.

The combined capacity totals 3,000 MW with 12,000 MWh of four hour storage across sites in Qassim, Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Region. 

Each project will operate under a Storage Services Agreement with the Principal Buyer. 


Saipem secures Safaniya field projects

Saipem has secured two offshore CRPO contracts in Saudi Arabia under its long term agreement with Aramco. 

The projects involve EPCI works at the Safaniya oil field, including water injection platforms, wellheads, pipelines, and subsea cables. 

CRPO 154 covers one injection platform, two wellheads, 5 km of pipeline, and 15 km of power cables. 

CRPO 155 includes four additional wellheads and subsea facilities. 

Saipem will use its regional vessels, while fabrication will take place at its Saudi yard, supporting local industrial development and capabilities.


Aramco, Sulzer ink pump partnership

Sulzer has signed a long-term corporate procurement agreement (CPA) with Aramco.

The agreement sets a framework for the supply of centrifugal pumps, spare parts, and aftermarket services across Aramco’s global operations under a five-year strategic partnership, with an option to extend for an additional three years.

Through this agreement, Sulzer will be able to provide aftermarket support for Aramco’s nationwide pump fleet.

This framework helps ensure high asset performance across critical upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.


Sabic leads clean energy tech

Sabic has been recognised at the Edison Awards for its innovation in energy and climate solutions, marking the sixth consecutive year of achievement. 

The company received five awards across multiple categories, including Energy and Climate Resiliency, Material Science, and Clean Water, Food and Agriculture. 

In the Energy and Climate Resiliency category, Sabic earned recognition for its HybSi membrane process, a breakthrough technology that replaces energy intensive distillation in chemical drying.
