Saudi advances Amiral petchem project
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment signed an agreement with Satorp to develop the Amiral petrochemical project, a joint venture between Aramco and TotalEnergies.
The initiative aims to localise petrochemical value chains and boost downstream industries, particularly in automotive and construction sectors.
About 50 per cent of output will support local supply chains, while the rest will be exported.
Aligned with national strategies, the project seeks to diversify revenues, enhance local content, and create high value jobs for Saudi citizens.
Mental health firm expands to Mideast
IntrospeXion, a mental health and wellbeing consultancy for offshore and energy workforces, is expanding into the Middle East through a new entity after securing regional contracts.
Founded in Scotland in 2024, it will deliver behavioural risk services, on site mental health hubs, clinics, audits, and leadership coaching.
The expansion supports energy companies in improving employee wellbeing, resilience, and psychologically safe workplace cultures in complex operational environments.
Masdar, EPCG launch energy venture
Masdar, Abu Dhabi energy company, and Montenegro’s Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) have agreed to form a 50/50 joint venture based in Niksic to develop large scale renewable energy projects.
The partnership will deploy solar, wind, hydropower, pumped storage, and battery storage solutions.
It aims to strengthen Montenegro’s energy security, meet domestic demand, and enable renewable electricity exports to the Western Balkans and Southern Europe, leveraging expertise from both companies and an interconnection with Italy.
Intech secures wellhead deal
Intech has strengthened its role as a trusted wellhead solutions provider by winning a major Middle East NOC contract for multi wellhead shutdown systems for gas modular skids.
Using its Saudi manufacturing and integration facilities, the company delivered a fully integrated solution with OEM partners.
The scope includes SS316L enclosures, hydraulic power units, accumulators, control instrumentation, and panels, ensuring safe, reliable, high pressure wellhead operations with full QA/QC and FAT support.
UK offshore wind record broken
ScottishPower and Masdar’s East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm has installed its first UK record turbine featuring 115-metre blades, the longest ever used in the country.
The 95 turbines are being built with UK made blades from Siemens Gamesa in Hull.
Each 14 MW turbine stands 262 metres tall and can power a home for over four days per rotation.
Once complete, the windfarm will supply clean electricity to 1.3 million UK homes.
