TotalEnergies Lubrifiants has introduced the Coolant Keep Plate (CKP), a passive technology designed to improve safety in immersion-cooled lithium-ion batteries. 

The plate allows vent gases to escape while retaining dielectric coolant around exposed cells, reducing thermal runaway risks. 

Requiring no sensors, controls or external power, the technology showed promising results in tests, with no fire or thermal runaway propagation observed in tested configurations.
