The Kuwait army has reported fuel tanks belonging to Kuwait International Airport were targeted in a drone attack.

"Fuel tanks belonging to Kuwait International Airport came under attack by drones, in a direct targeting of vital infrastructure," an official defence ministry spokesman said, according to a post by the Kuwaiti military on X.

The spokesperson said the country's armed forces had been dealing "with a wave of hostile drones that breached the country's airspace".

One killed in Dubai

Meanwhile, a Dubai resident has been killed by falling shrapnel from an "aerial interception", officials in the United Arab Emirates say.

Qatar and the UAE both reported being attacked by missiles and drones on Saturday, while Saudi Arabia says a missile was launched towards a military base.

On Saturday, UAE air defence systems detected 16 ballistic missiles, of which, 15 were intercepted and destroyed, while one ballistic missile fell into the sea.

Air defence systems also detected 121 drones, of which 119 were intercepted, while two fell within the territory of the UAE.

Since the start of the Iranian aggression, a total of 221 ballistic missiles have been detected, of which 205 were destroyed, while 14 fell into the sea and two missiles landed within the territory of the UAE, the UAE said.

A total of 1,305 Iranian drones have also been detected, of which 1,229 were intercepted, while 76 drones fell within the territory of the UAE. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.

Bahrain intercepts attacks

The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) General Command also announced that air defence systems continue to intercept successive waves of Iranian aggression.

Since the onset of these attacks, 84 missiles and 147 drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain have been intercepted and destroyed.

In a statement carried by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the General Command noted that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian areas and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, and that these indiscriminate attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security.
