Committed to meeting Oman’s growing energy demands while maintaining the right equilibrium between economic growth and social and environmental needs, Oman Shell recently confirmed its participation at the upcoming Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) as the strategic partner.

The event, hosted under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, is scheduled to be held from 12 to 16 March 2023 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC). Dedicated to the future of energy, power, water, waste, environment and society, it will offer a platform for global stakeholders, sustainability experts and industry leaders from different sectors.

Representing Oman Shell at the event will be Walid Hadi, Country Chairman and Senior Vice President and Malak Al Shaibani, General Manager, External Relations and ICV.

Through its dedicated booth, Oman Shell will share its journey toward driving sustainability while highlighting the progress it has made in contributing to carbon neutrality by developing green hydrogen in Oman through its Green Hydrogen for Mobility project.

The company will also showcase the initiatives that were undertaken to empower the youth under its Shell Nawafidh and Shell NXplorers programmes.

To honour the second batch of Nawafidh students and applaud their relentless dedication, Oman Shell will host a graduation ceremony as part of OSW.

Al Shaibani said: “OSW is set to take place at an incredibly critical time as Oman has made significant progress in its energy transition agenda. An event of such scale further reaffirms the country’s unfaltering commitment to attaining net-zero emissions and shifting to a green, circular economy. With hydrogen being identified and promoted as a green fuel, ESG mandates becoming a mainstay across every sector and the establishment of Oman Sustainability Center, the nation is uniquely positioned to set new benchmarks and pioneer innovative efforts in the realm of sustainability.” -TradeArabia News Service
