India will reduce export duties on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for the fortnight beginning June 1, according to a government statement.

The export duty on petrol has been lowered to 1.5 rupees ($0.0158) per litre, while the duty on diesel has been set at 13.5 rupees per litre.

Export duties on ATF will be 9.5 rupees per litre, the statement said.

The revised rates are part of the government's fortnightly review mechanism, under which duties are adjusted based on average international prices of crude oil, petrol, diesel and ATF since the previous assessment period.

India introduced the variable export duty framework to align domestic fuel taxation with global energy market trends.
