IMI has announced a major investment in India with the launch of a new manufacturing and engineering facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, strengthening its regional operations and production capabilities.
Located at Hiranandani Industrial Park, the site began
operations in April 2026 and is gradually taking over activities from IMI’s
existing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
The plant will manufacture and test IMI CCI products,
including turbine bypass valves, control valves, desuperheaters and hydraulic
supply units, while operating under the company’s global quality management
systems.
The new facility also consolidates IMI’s regional office and
warehouse operations into a single location, improving operational efficiency
and customer service.
Chungduk Suh, President of Power & Nuclear for Process
Automation at IMI, said: “India is both an important market and manufacturing
base for many of our industry-leading valve technologies. This significant
investment puts us in a prime position to attract and retain the region’s top
talent, deliver outstanding technologies to our clients and improve our
environmental performance.”
The Chennai investment forms part of IMI’s broader global
expansion strategy, following recent manufacturing and engineering site
developments in the UK, Italy, the United States and Brazil. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
