Ampo Poyam Valves has designed and manufactured more than 5,550 cryogenic and non-cryogenic gate, globe and check valves for the North Field South (NFS) Onshore LNG Facilities project in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Developed by QatarEnergy LNG as part of the expansion of the North Field, the world’s largest non-associated natural gas field, the NFS project includes two new LNG mega trains, each with a capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

The development also features gas treatment facilities, natural gas liquids recovery units, helium extraction and refining systems, and a 1.5 Mtpa carbon capture and sequestration facility.

The project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 25% compared with similar LNG facilities.

It is being executed by a joint venture between Technip Energies France and CCC, serving as EPC contractor for QatarEnergy LNG.

Ampo Poyam Valves’ supply includes highly engineered valves for both cryogenic and non-cryogenic applications, including large-sized, high-pressure equipment such as 60-inch, 900-lb pressure-seal gate valves.

The contract builds on AMPO’s previous involvement in the North Field East expansion in 2022, where its valves have already been installed.

The latest award further strengthens Ampo Poyam Valves’ position as a major supplier to the global LNG industry, supported by more than six decades of experience and projects across Qatar, the US, China, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Americas.

Its international footprint and in-house manufacturing capabilities enable the company to meet demanding technical requirements for large-scale LNG developments. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
