Oman and Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and investment in the energy sector, expanding opportunities for partnerships between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Oman’s Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Al Aufi, and Thailand’s Minister of Energy, Akanat Promphan.

The MoU seeks to promote joint investment, facilitate the exchange of expertise, technologies, policies and information, and support the development of the energy ecosystem in both countries.

It also provides for training programmes, knowledge transfer, expert visits and research cooperation aimed at developing the energy workforce.

The agreement will establish an “Oman-Thailand Energy Policy Dialogue,” bringing together representatives from the private sectors of both countries.

 The platform will help identify potential joint projects and develop a long-term programme for cooperation and engagement.

The MoU reflects Oman and Thailand’s shared interest in deepening economic ties and expanding institutional and business cooperation in the energy sector.

It also provides a framework for collaboration on the development and operation of joint energy projects, while encouraging regular bilateral consultations and the exchange of experience. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
