Sulzer has supplied its DEVO purification technology to BeyondPoly’s Version 2.0, 100,000-tonne-per-year polyolefin elastomer (POE) plant in China, supporting production of a material increasingly used in solar panels, electric vehicles, energy storage systems and other advanced manufacturing applications.
BeyondPoly and Sulzer have signed the final acceptance
certificate for the purification unit, confirming that the system has been
installed, tested and is operating as intended.
The facility has reached its planned production capacity,
with Sulzer’s technology performing a key step to remove residual compounds and
support consistent product quality.
POE, often described in Chinese media as “industrial gold”,
combines the strength and processability of plastics with the elasticity and
durability of rubber.
Its optical clarity and high light transmittance also make
it suitable for applications requiring durability under changing temperatures
and mechanical stress.

Sulzer said the DEVO system helps achieve low residual
volatile content and energy-efficient operation at industrial scale. BeyondPoly
selected the technology based on its track record, lower residual volatile
content and energy performance.
