AMPO POYAM VALVES will supply 18 specially engineered check and globe valves for Aramco’s CRPO 147/157 offshore trunkline project at the Zuluf field, one of the region’s largest offshore oil fields.
The project involves the engineering, procurement,
construction and installation (EPCI) of a 60-kilometre, 48-inch trunkline,
alongside associated onshore dredging works.
Lamprell has been awarded the EPCI contract by Aramco as
part of the continued development of the offshore field.
AMPO POYAM VALVES’ supply package includes carbon steel
valves featuring an Inconel 625 weld overlay, designed to withstand the
demanding operating conditions of offshore oil and gas infrastructure.
The valves will be manufactured in 30-inch, 36-inch and
48-inch sizes, all rated at Class 1500 pressure specifications.
The 48-inch unit is the largest valve of its kind ever
supplied by the company, while some individual valves weigh more than 60
tonnes.
The scale and technical requirements of the equipment have
presented significant engineering and logistical challenges.
The company undertook extensive engineering work to
establish specifications for several components, while delivery planning is
required to ensure the oversized units reach the project site on schedule and
in suitable condition.
The contract highlights AMPO POYAM VALVES’ capabilities in
designing and manufacturing large, highly engineered valves for demanding
offshore applications, including products incorporating specialised materials
and cladded or overlaid solutions.
The company’s selection for the project also reflects its
experience in supplying complex valve systems for major energy developments
worldwide.
The Zuluf project forms part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing
offshore oil and gas infrastructure development, with the new trunkline
intended to support operations at the field.
The valve package will provide critical flow-control
components for the project’s pipeline system, where equipment must meet
stringent requirements for pressure resistance, reliability and operational
performance. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
