RAWABI Electric (RE), a fully owned subsidiary of Rawabi Holding and a leader in the field of power and automation in Saudi Arabia has made major inroads this year winning key contracts from power stalwarts like General Electric (GE) and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
The competitive solutions provider was awarded a contract to supply its unique prefabricated power and control centre (PCR) to GE for the PP13 and PP14 power plant project in Riyadh. The $700 million project initiated by SEC and contracted to GE as the EPC contractor aims at bringing F-class combined cycle gas turbines and will generate more than 3.8 gigawatts (GW) of power thus significantly contributing to the growing energy needs of the kingdom.
The use of the locally manufactured and designed PCR in a project of such a huge scale therefore, sits as yet another feather in the cap of the company seeking to promote innovation and distinctive solutions as the way forward, says RE’s general manager Fawzi Alalwan.
The PCR is one such example and is the first of its kind portable power centre in the country, housing complete power and control solutions manufactured by RE in compliance with international standards.
Speaking further, RE’s general manager Fawzi Alalwan states: “Rawabi Electric always tries and sets an example for other companies in the region and the PCR was unique as it was entirely our brainchild and designed and manufactured in-house. We strive to $5 billion from investments in the electricity sector and $1.8 billion from fuel costs provide our partners with safe, quality and innovative value offering, capitalising on our field know how and strategic relations built over three decades. We do closely observe value innovation in a fair process play balancing three stakeholders’ interests; staff, partners and owners.”
In this era of technological and energy revolutions in the Middle East, and particularly in Saudi Arabia, the utilisation of RE’s state-of-the-art solution offering in projects of such critical international significance, is thus a great achievement for not only the company but also the budding innovative design and manufacturing industry in the kingdom.
A veteran in the industry, RE has been providing customised and tailor-made power and automation solutions in the GCC for over 30 years. As such, the company believes in collaborating with strategic international partners to bring together global technologies and local expertise in a winning combination to further their carefully selected portfolio of products and services under power systems, automation and control systems as well as metal works and finish.
However, what sets the company apart remains its focus on value, innovation, centered thinking and the urge to facilitate unorthodox solutions for customers in accordance to their requirements without compromising on quality or safety. It comes as no surprise then that RE is the only facility in Mena that is certified by and under active rigorous surveillance of German body (Kema/Dekra) for integrated management systems covering health, safety, environment and quality to ensure its products are a world class apart.
