The UAE plans to boos infrastructure by 70 per cent

Abu Dhabi unveiled major new infrastructure initiatives and future-focused urban development plans during Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS).

Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the three-day summit brought together more than 7,000 policymakers, developers, engineers, investors, and infrastructure leaders under the theme “Urban Evolution: Rethinking Cities, Redefining How We Live.”

In a key announcement at the event, the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (Adpic) launched a new unified governance framework aimed at accelerating infrastructure approvals and improving coordination across Abu Dhabi’s capital project ecosystem.

The framework, introduced through a memorandum of understanding signed by 14 government entities, establishes a streamlined mechanism for issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs).

It also creates a joint committee chaired by Adpic to identify and resolve approval delays, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and improve implementation timelines across infrastructure projects.

Officials said the framework supports Abu Dhabi’s wider strategy of transparent governance, integrated urban planning, and creating a more attractive environment for long-term investment and development partnerships.

In the opening session, Suhail Al Mazroui, UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said the UAE is increasing infrastructure and road network efficiency by up to 70 percent.

Organisers said Adpic is currently overseeing a $57 billion capital projects pipeline, with more than 100 projects completed last year alone.
