Background
Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) builds a gas and condensate export system on the onshore and offshore locations between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The project will help KJO and KOC reach their goal of flaring no more than one per cent of produced natural gas.
The project aims at delivering a combination of lean gas, condensate and sour gas from its Khafji Joint Operation (KJO) facilities in Saudi Arabia to KOC’s tie-in intermediate slug catcher in Mina Al Ahmadi.


Project status
March 2017: Additional 10 km has been added to the Kuwaiti section of the project. The pre-commissioning works are expected to start by the end of 2017.

Project scope
The project scope includes:
• A single 12-inch export pipeline from Khafji Joint Operation (KJO) facilities in Saudi Arabia to Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) tie-in facility.
• The total export pipeline length is 110 kilometers (km), with four km onshore in Saudi Arabia, followed by 47 km offshore and 59 km onshore in Kuwait.
• Amended scope: additional 10 km for Kuwaiti section of the project.
