AED Energy has completed the initial operation of its high-temperature thermal storage demonstrator at its London facility, validating performance, controllability, and durability using ultra-low-cost salt-based materials under $5 per kWh.

The demonstrator, part of the upcoming 10-MWh platform, has completed cycling and controls integration.

It has now been shipped to Pan Atlantic University in Nigeria for field deployment through an Innovate UK-supported collaboration with PAU and the ZE Gen initiative.

The system will provide renewable electricity and low-carbon heat, with full 800 deg C cycling commissioned on site.
