Citgo Petroleum Corp plans to begin restarting a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit soon at its 165,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The No 2 cat cracker at the Corpus Christi refinery was shut after a previous restart attempt failed.
According to the TCEQ filing, the startup is scheduled to last 24 hours, though how long it will take to get the unit to full capacity production is unknown.
The electrostatic precipitator, which produces steam, cyclones and a third-stage separator were repaired on the cat cracker, according to the filing.
