The Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company (II) - RasGas (II) - said it had successfully delivered its first LNG cargo to Spain, under its 20 year-term Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Endesa Generacion SA.
The long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA), signed between the Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (II) ('RasGas II') and Endesa Generacion SA, provides for the supply of 0.8 million tonnes per annum (MTA) of LNG over a 20 year term.
Being an 'Ex-Ship' deal, RasGas will be responsible for transporting the LNG from Qatar to Spain, utilising one of RasGas' controlled 138,000m3 long-term chartered LNG tankers, 'Maersk Ras Laffan,' constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in Korea.
The round trip between Qatar and Spain takes 26 days.
