JLT Risk Solutions unveils energy unit
LONDON: JLT Risk Solutions, one of the largest global insurance brokers, has unveiled its new expanded Energy Business Unit.
The unit has grown from 30 to 45 people in the past year, a growth fuelled by new client wins and their demand for innovative solutions and professional service.
Roger Backhouse, business unit head said: “We have recruited key individuals with expertise across all areas. This is being driven, not only by new business wins but by the desire of existing and new clients to develop their businesses in territories such as Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and the Former Soviet Union.”
2005 represented JLT Risk Solutions Energy Business Unit's most successful trading period to date. New business includes several major oil, gas and utility clients and major joint venture projects around the world in areas such as the Middle East and Australia.
These new business wins pay testament to JLT's ongoing commitment to provide added value to clients through innovative solutions, dedication of quality resources and reliable performance levels.
London, Bermudian and European insurers remain at the core of the global insurance market and JLT is recognised for its leading broking expertise in these markets.
The latest appointments as Partners to the JLT Risk Solutions Energy Business Unit include:
Jeremy Swan, formerly the managing director of Aon Energy will join the JLT team at the beginning of January 2006 to head up the onshore property and casualty sectors. Paddy McMurray and Rupert McKenzie from Aon join him.
Other recent Partner appointments are: Richard Scott, from Aon who will focus on business development in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and the former Soviet Union;
James Craven from Heath Lambert to develop business throughout Latin America and Eastern Europe and Robert Atkinson from Millers who will focus on client service and brings huge experience in dealings in the UK and Europe.
Chris Benton from Marsh now provides on and offshore casualty capability and is being joined by a former colleague Graham Long.
