Ahigh-level delegation from the world’s largest steel producer, ThyssenKrupp Steel Germany visited the Arabian Pipes Company (APC) facility in Riyadh recently to witness the latest developments and expansions undertaken by APC in the field of steel pipes manufacturing.
APC is the region’s leading manufacturer carbon steel pipes manufacturer for oil, gas, petrochemical, agricultural and other sectors. The visit emphasises the strengthening of bilateral relationship and enhancement of existing cooperation between the two companies.
ThyssenKrupp assured APC’s continuous allocation of high quality steel coils to address its raw material requirements. Commercial exchanges between both companies are expected to double during the year, in view of APC’s expansion plans and supply agreements with leading oil companies and participation to various mega-projects.
The German delegation was lead by Dr Jost Massenberg (president and member of the executive board), Peter Selbach (senior vice president), and Dr Peter Biele (customer services senior director), and their agent in the Middle East Royal Legend Company, represented by Maged Hamed.
Engineer Saad Al Mojel, APC’s chairman, expressed his appreciation of ThyssenKrupp’s valuable support to APC and complimented on the distinguished relations and cooperation between the parties. Also in attendance were Khalid Abdullah Abu Nayyan (board member), Saud Mohammed Al Fayez (general manager) and APC’s senior management.
Arabian Pipes Company (APC), a Saudi joint stock company, is the largest manufacturer of High Frequency Electric Resistance Welded (HF-ERW) steel pipes in the Middle East. APC’s main office is centrally located in Riyadh and its ERW plant specialises in the manufacture and anti-corrosion coating of high quality carbon steel pipes. A threading and coupling line has recently been added. A second plant is located in Jubail, producing Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW) carbon steel pipes using world-class technology.
APC’s pipes already reached 17 major export destinations, primarily to oil and gas producing countries. A momentous milestone was achieved last year when APC delivered its one millionth tonne of pipes, a historic feat that secures APC’s spot among the top pipe producers.
As APC is a dynamic company geared for continuous expansion and growth, construction is now going on for a new Spiral Arc Welded (SAW) mill and an additional anti-corrosion coating facility in Jubail, making APC truly a one-stop-shop for carbon steel pipes.
