Project Status
As of mid June 2006, it is believed that the client ExxonMobil Middle East Gas Marketing has released the LOI ( Letter of Intent ) on the JV of Chiyoda Corporation and Technip.
It is also believed that CCC and Dodsal will be assisting the Chiyoda and Technip.
As of July 10 2006, it is believed that ExxonMobil Middle East Marketing and Qatar Petroleum have signed a development plan and the launch of the Al-Khaleej Gas Phase 2 (AKG 2) development.
Project Scope
The project will develop reserves from the North Field to supply 1,250 million cubic feet a day of gas to the domestic consumers and for export.
The project will also produce condensate, ethane, LPG and sulphur.
The scheme will also produce about:
15 million barrels a year of field condensate;
1 million tonnes per year (tpy) of propane, butane and plant condensate; and
about 870,000 tpy of ethane for petrochemicals production.
The facility is to use gas turbines for compression and power generation services.
