TANK showers provide a reliable supply of water but in hot climates, the temperature can quickly rise to make them unusable. To maintain a safe water temperature, Hughes Safety Showers, supplies chillers for new and existing tank showers. Attached to the side of the tank, they are compact and highly efficient. The stored water is constantly circulating through the chiller and when it detects a rise in temperature the unit switches on to maintain it at a safe level.

The ANSI Z 358.1 2009 standard recommends the use of tepid water in safety showers specifying a temperature between 16 degrees and 38 degrees C.

Flame proof versions are also available for zone 1 hazardous areas.
