PEOPLE: BlueTech appoints senior director

Gay ... strategic role

Gay comes to BlueTech Research from IHS where he served as director of research and led the production of two multi-client studies addressing water management challenges and market opportunities in the unconventional oil and gas industry. He brings more than 15 years of international expertise from work in the water environment, and energy sectors. Prior to IHS he held research, product development and business development roles at GreenFuel Technology Corporation, Trophos Energy, Valicor and Elsevier. Paul O’Callaghan, CEO, said, “Marcus’ wealth of experience and industry knowledge enhance our already robust services by bringing strategic new insights to BlueTech Research. We see this as strategic hire to the firm, especially as it enhances our knowledge in unconventional fossil fuels, which is one of our core practice areas, and Marcus’ technology commercialization expertise is constructive across all four of our practice areas. With such a strong individual, BlueTech will deepen the level of service we provide to our clients around the world.”

Gay joins BlueTech Research to support the company’s continued growth as the leading provider of water technology market intelligence. Gay comments, “I am excited to start this new position within BlueTech Research. It is great to be part of a team in which we all have strong technical backgrounds and industry experience. I look forward to working with them as we help our clients identify new opportunities for growth.”

“Over the past few years, the oil and gas water management landscape has evolved quite rapidly. I have seen developments in a number of software tools and sensor technologies, water treatment technologies, water re-use strategies, and energy and resource recovery options. These topics are aligned with the four practice areas that BlueTech has focused on. I feel confident that the BlueTech Intelligence Platform provides unprecedented value to clients in the water and energy sector alike,” said Gay.
