Background
The AUH8 data centre project in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, marks a significant expansion of the existing AUH6 facility.
Once complete, the development will create the largest data center in the UAE, increasing the site’s total IT load capacity from 32 MW to 62 MW.
In conjunction with the AUH4 facility in Mafraq, AUH8 will contribute to a combined total capacity of 60 MW, reinforcing the UAE’s digital infrastructure and supporting growing data demands.
Utilising a modular construction approach, AUH8 will enable accelerated deployment and minimise construction waste.
The facility will also incorporate adiabatic free-cooling technology to boost energy efficiency and reduce operational costs, aiming to meet industry-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) benchmarks.
PROJECT SCOPE
The project scope includes a 30 MW data centre incorporating adiabatic free cooling technology.
PROJECT STATUS
As of April 2026, McLaren Construction has confirmed that site works have resumed. Following a temporary suspension, the project completion date is now slated for October 2026 or November 2026.
