Worldwide pump and fluid power product supplier Haskel International USA has acquired the Durameter line of electrically-driven metering pumps.

Its European operation, Haskel Energy Systems, will be responsible for the sale and distribution of this line throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Durameter pumps are used in many process applications including water treatment, oil, gas and petrochemicals and can accommodate flows from .08 gph to 2,000 gph and pressures up to 3,500 psi.

To be marketed as Durameter - a Haskel Product, the pumps will provide customers with new opportunities for comprehensive system solutions. The product now to be manufactured at Haskel's headquarters in California, US, is renowned for its high quality and 10-year guarantee on the gearbox is offered to customers.

Haskel intends to rapidly expand its electric pump line and strengthen its global distribution by marketing through already well established Haskel and Durameter sales and service network in Europe.

UK sales director Peter Kaveney said: ''This acquisition prepares us for major growth by increasing our products and services in traditional markets of oil and gas production and processing. We can now also move into new markets requiring metering pumps for chemical injection systems.''

Haskel Energy Systems Limited also manufacture hydraulic and air-driven high pressure gas boosters, air pressure amplifiers and related systems.
